Facebook Live Coaching #35 – Number x Value = Total Value

Dear members,

[Total Value = Number x Value] questions are typically 4-5 marks questions in the P4 & P5 Maths exam. Many child find these questions confusing because most are unable to apply this same concept to solve different question types!

Your child may know how to solve a question in its particular context.
=========
𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝗮 𝘁𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 $𝟴𝟭 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟴 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟯 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝘀. 𝗘𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗽. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗰𝗮𝗽 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁?
=========

But when the question is being paraphrase to the following:

=========
𝗔 𝗳𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁-𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘁 $𝟮𝟬 𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 $𝟳𝟱 𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀. 𝗛𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 1/3 𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀. 𝗘𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁 $𝟬.𝟮𝟬 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗲. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘆?
=========

Hence, while your child know how to answer first question, he or she wouldn’t be able to answer another question presented in a different scenario, even if both questions involve the same concept!

Join us on Facebook Live 10 Oct (Wed) @ 8PM to master this every concept that is applicable for all P4 & P5 students to solve any [Number x Value] type of questions effortlessly!
